So beautiful, tasty and healthy! FavorSeeking at it’s finest!
Thanks @aglimpsephotography for the beautiful photo! And www.hailmerry.com for a delicious treat!!
Ok, so we are needing a treat and of course one should turn to fruits and veggies…
But…a girl needs her healthy fat for glowing skin, right?! And I’ll take any miracle I can get!
Look at that texture! There was a fight over this baby! The crust was decadent and the filling so rich and creamy! I think weare in trouble!
One piece left and it did not last but a few seconds!!
And all gone!!! So sad.
Back to FlavorSeeking for the other flavors. Tried chocolate and chocolate almond butter. We can’t wait to try the lemon, lime and coconut. Oh and did I mention? They have macaroons too. YUMMY!!!!
Please try them and let us know what you think!!!
That time again! Need more chicken feed. So off to our favorite little hidden treasure in San Diego. City Farms Nursery!!! www.cityfarmersnursery.com
This place never gets old!!! So much beauty and peace in the middle of the city!
Strawberries and looks like a version of Morning Glories…
Pears and pomegranates…
Look at all those eggs!
Roses, nasturtiums and morning glories…
And butterflies! This plant really works!
And our new friend Roxy.
Until we need more chicken feed! Or who knows, we may find a reason to come back before then!
Oh count the ways!!
Chicken Marsala with portobellos last Tuesday!
Stuffed portobellos this Tuesday…
Gone are the Taco Tuesdays…
We have moved on to Portobello Tuesdays!!!
Portobello stuffed with Garlic shrimp and spinach! With a side of fresh berries.
Lets see how many Tuesdays we can pull this off…
I am thinking polenta next week and maybe pizza the week after. Then we can move on to some sort of portobello dessert???
A lazy Saturday afternoon. Needed a break from studying, but didn’t want to drive to the beach. So thought we would do a little Flavorseeking and try something new and a little closer to home!
So many choices!
And we always have one in the crowd that is a little different. Instead of a sandwich…a cup of ice cream and a side of cookies.
The de-constructed version…
And as you can tell, we didn’t much care for it…
I thought Hubby got this picture off the internet…but he actually took it with his old iPhone4. Crazy, huh?!
It’s just so perfect, I had to post it! This only inspired him to take a few more…
And because he is an Ambassador, we get a full line of winter clothing for our Maker’s Mark… Everyone should be so lucky! i know! I know! You want to know where you can get your very own Maker’s Mark sweater, scarf and sleeping cap!!!
Yippee! We found something we can actually grow…
It started with SweetPea’s experiment. This was after 1 day!
It progressed to this…
And then to this…
Pretty fun, huh?! I think I am going to sprinkle these int he back yard and see if after 16 years we can actually have grass :0)
Yum! Again, down to the wire and needing a meal to put on the table.
What-oh-what do we have int he fridge/freezer? Scored!
Seared Ahi on a bed of arugula topped with pineapple mango salsa…
Last time I was at Costco they had these new frozen Ahi steaks. Thought, what the heck, worth a try! So I got them! Thawed a couple!
Must admit, I was a little concerned about the quality/flavor that may come from a frozen mass produced filet of fish. But they are pretty darn good. I am getting more of these.
Was planning on searing with Sesame seeds and ginger soy and then remembered I had some delicious tropical yummy-ness in the fridge!
Trader Joe’s Pineapple Mango Salsa I bought for chip dippin! Pulled that out!
Seared up the Ahi with a little coconut oil, salt and pepper. Layered some Arugala and then topped with the salsa and voila! It was DELICIOUS!
This was so easy, quick and so very tasty!!! I mean really easy.
If you squinted, it could have been served at Peohe’s…you could even hear the waves lapping on the bay…oh wait, that was chickens chirping in the yard…kind of the same thing :0)
Only problem…the girls will not go near fish…thank goodness they were not hungry!
Dinner always comes too quick around here. No matter how hard I plan, it never seems to come together like I envision!
Well Hubby has been hinting about Chicken Cordon Blue lately. So as I was trying to figure out what to make for dinner, I started thinking about it…how hard could it really be?! Well it actually wasn’t hard at all. Got the ingredients on the way home from a sporting event. Prepped and baked. Voila…45 minute meal including the 30 minute bake time.
Some yummy marinated cucumbers int he background!
I am not a fan of Chicken Cordon Blue, but I must admit…this was pretty darn good!!
The pictures are a little drab in color, but it was very tasty! Only thing lacking was I forgot to season the panko. Next time!
Here you can kind of see the swiss cheese oozing out…
And dessert! Dark chocolate almond bark from Trader Joe’s… A gift from a friend who I got hooked on the dark chocolate covered almonds with sea salt and turbinado sugar. As she says, “misery loves company”! It was hard to share!
What’s your favorite easy meal? Dessert?
